IN MEMORIAM
JOHN "SMOKEY" PARROW
1949-2008
John "Smokey" passed away on Nov 17,
2008 after
a long illness.
Born July 15, 1949 in Elmira N.Y., he served in the Navy and lived in New
York City for many years.
Longtime resident of Key West, he was very active in the
gay community and was a member and officer of the K.W. Wreckers.
Smokey
will be remembered for his outgoing and friendly spirit as he touched many
hearts by his kindness and generosity.
He is survived by his mother, his brother and three
sisters,
numerous nephews and nieces, their children
and many
friends he made all across the country.
John will be sorely missed by his loving family and
friends.
Smokey lived a full life, rich in meaningful encounters
throughout numerous trips across the world.
His openness about having
AIDS and his take on life impacted and enriched anyone that had the chance
to meet him.
His existence has now moved to a higher level.
It is
in that spirit, that this website will remain available.
You are
cordially invited to share his legacy and to join the people that loved him
so dearly in John's Celebration of Life...
